1. Who can join the team? Anyone who is down to shred! We welcome skier and snowboarders of all abilities. We are a club who simply like to call ourselves a team, because it sounds cool and some of us race. There are no tryouts, you just need to like being in the snow.
2. What if I’m not that good or haven’t been riding long? Our Team is one of the best places to come if you are serious about progressing. We have people from all abilities on the team, and we do help people who want to get better. Since we have 13 trips a year we have plenty of riding time in the best snow in Southern California!
3. How much are dues and what is included in the Membership? Dues this season are $450. Team dues are applied towards the Team Cabin Rentals, Utilities for trips, Team Events and Parties, Team Jackets, T-Shirts and Stickers, USCSA Southwest and USCSA National League registration, Mammoth Mountain Course Operation Fees, as well as other costs incurred by the Team. All members also get access to our proforms from our sponsorships. Most deals are 50% off gear. Spaces are limited and the team fills up fast, so sign up and pay your dues ASAP! Keep in mind that dues are non-refundable.
4. What about lift tickets? Since the team does not have an inexhaustible budget, lift tickets are the responsibility of the member. On race weekends lift tickets are offered at discounted rates, around $50 (Regular day tickets are currently over $120). Most members buy the IKON Base Pass (very few blackout dates) or IKON Full Pass which allows all season riding (No black out dates!) at Mammoth, Bear, June, Snow Summit, & 36 other mountains across the world. Prices vary every season, but our team has access to an exclusive discounted price.
5. How do team trips work? We operate on a first come first serve basis for team trips, but there is more than enough opportunity to attend trips. The house rentals are fully equipped with a complete kitchen and ample amount of sleeping space. Captains will be on every trip with the team members.
6. Can I bring a guest to the house? Guests are welcome to come on team trips and stay with us, however, they are required to pay guest fees per night. NO EXCEPTIONS! You must notify and get approval from a Team Captain before any guests are brought on a trip. The rentals are decent sized, but space is limited and during certain weekends we will not be able accommodate all guests. Team members do get priority.
7. What does the team do before Mammoth opens? It is our recruitment and bonding period. We will be hosting various events and meetings to prepare for the season. This is the time to get to know each other before the year starts and finalize plans for the upcoming season. Some things include Discounted Sponsor Shopping events, Team BBQ, Trampoline Training Sesh, Team Bonfire, Inflight Shop Equipment Workshop, and more!
8. Is racing mandatory? No!! it is completely optional, however we encourage participation. Many of our members participate because races are fun. Racing provides a great sense of team spirit. The races are very relaxed and always a good time for both team and club members.
9. What races are there? We compete in Slalom, Giant Slalom, Skier Cross, Rail Jam, and Slopestyle for Men and Women Skiers and Snowboarders.
10. How do I get to Mammoth? Do I need a car? We carpool and drive up to Mammoth together. We contact through our exclusive team app. You do not need a car, there are plenty of members willing to drive. Unfortunately team dues do not cover gas, but with carpooling, gas is usually a minimum of $20 roundtrip.
11. What if I have more questions? Email the Team Captains. [email protected]
